Record is a conceptual magazine that explores what a music publication could look like with a sharper focus on design. But it's also a great way to play with editorial design and illustrate my favorite music artists. The Thom Yorke cover is painted by hand using gouache.
A tongue-in-cheek packaging concept that reassures those concerned that there will be beer in hell. Coming in two styles—a red ale and a black stout ale—this beer is guaranteed to hit the spot after a long day of fiery torture by the dark angel's demonic minions.
This poster concept doesn't pull any punches. The startling statistic is accompanied by my stark visual interpretation of the disease—a human brain gradually deteriorating until time is up.
There are times when I get the itch to close the design applications, shut the laptop and create something on paper. In this case, it was a hand-painted label design concept featuring a big pissed-off kraken. I entered this into a competition sponsored by Bonny Doon when I was a poor design student and it netted me a $500 first prize.
